Legs Get Heavy When Walking
Heavy/numb legs with walking can be spinal stenosis, disc irritation, or less commonly vascular. Patterns below help narrow it down.
Clues by pattern
- Worse with walking/standing, better when sitting or bending forward → possible stenosis.
- Sharp leg pain with bending or sitting → possible disc-related.
- Calf pain with walking that eases with rest, no back pain → consider vascular (needs vascular eval).
Get evaluated if symptoms are progressive, involve numbness/weakness, or limit your walking distance.
How we treat
- Circulation HD for nerve/fascial entrapment contributing to symptoms.
- Circulation PT for hip hinge, core stability, and graded walking program.
